The 27th Annual Conference of the ESC will take place in Skopje, North Macedonia, from 15 to 18 September 2027.
The 28th Annual Conference of the ESC will take place in Dublin, Ireland, from 30 August to 2 September 2028.
The 29th Annual Conference of the ESC will take place in Bratislava, Slovakia, from 5 to 8 September 2029.
Guidelines for ESC Conference Participants
The European Society of Criminology (ESC) is committed to promoting an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and the encouragement of diversity to cultivate a productive, positive, and equitable environment that benefits all ESC members and conference participants. These Guidelines reflect the specific objectives of the ESC to foster criminological scholarship, and encourage scholarly, scientific and practical exchange and cooperation.
Throughout attending the ESC conference, including social events, participants shall:
- treat other conference participants with fairness and respect
- actively foster a scholarly environment which respects values and differences and promotes dignity, equality and diversity,
- respect common norms of professional regard necessary to promote free academic exchange
- ensure that all conference participants enjoy a welcoming environment free from discrimination, oppression, harassment, aggression or bullying of any kind.
Any form of threatening physical or verbal actions and disorderly or disruptive conduct towards conference participants will not be tolerated. Harassment, including verbal comments relating to gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, age, national origin or other protected statuses, intimidation, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention, will not be tolerated.
A violation of these Guidelines by conference participants may lead to an exclusion from the remainder of the conference, whereas a violation of these Guidelines by ESC members may result in their exclusion from the ESC in line with Section 5 of the Constitution of the European Society of Criminology.
